Foundation for Development Initiative Is Hiring an Account Executive in Delhi

The Foundation for Development Initiative (FDI) has announced an opening for an Account Executive at its Head Office in Dwarka Sector 23, Delhi. The role suits finance professionals who want to apply their accounting skills to social development work.

About the Role

FDI is looking for a responsible, detail-oriented person to manage the organization's day-to-day accounting and financial activities. The Account Executive will keep financial records accurate, process transactions, prepare financial reports, support budgets and grants, and ensure compliance with accounting standards, donor requirements, and statutory regulations.

What You Will Do

The responsibilities cover the full cycle of NGO accounting:

  • Core bookkeeping: Maintain books of accounts and financial records, record receipts, payments, expenses, donations, and grants, and prepare vouchers, invoices, bills, and supporting documents.

  • Reconciliation and reporting: Handle bank, ledger, and account reconciliations, and assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.

  • Project and donor accounting: Track project-wise and donor-wise income and expenditure, monitor budgets against actual spending, and help prepare utilization certificates and donor financial reports.

  • Compliance and audit: Support TDS, GST, income tax, and other statutory compliance, assist with internal and external audits, and keep financial documentation in order.

  • Coordination: Work with project teams on budgets and expenses, and support financial reporting for CSR projects, institutional donors, and government grants.

Who Can Apply

FDI is looking for candidates with the following profile:

  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, or a related field (B.Com/M.Com or equivalent)

  • Around 1–4 years of relevant accounting experience, with NGO experience preferred

  • A good grasp of accounting principles and bookkeeping

  • Experience with Tally, Zoho Books, QuickBooks, or similar software

  • Working knowledge of MS Excel or Google Sheets

  • An understanding of TDS, GST, income tax, and statutory compliance

  • Strong attention to detail, numerical accuracy, and documentation skills

  • Good communication and coordination skills

Knowledge of NGO and donor accounting is an added advantage.

Why It Matters

Accounting in the development sector involves more than balancing books. Every rupee has to be traced to a project, a donor, and a compliance requirement. For someone who wants their financial expertise to support meaningful social work, this role offers exactly that.
