The Rural Crèche Initiative (RCI), affectionately known as "Laika Ghar", is a beacon of hope for children aged 7 months to 3 years. In regions where access to early childhood care is often a distant dream, these crèches provide a safe, stimulating, and nurturing environment. Beyond basic childcare, "Laika Ghar" focuses on a holistic approach: ensuring crucial early childhood development, providing essential nutrition, and facilitating access to vital health services and government entitlements. The RCI's core objectives are clear and impactful:
Broadening Access: Ensuring every child between 7 months and 3 years in targeted geographies has the opportunity to attend these vital crèches.
Holistic Growth: Delivering supplementary feeding programs, fostering foundational early childhood development, and simplifying the process for families to claim government benefits.
Health Vigilance: Proactively identifying children exhibiting growth faltering, being underweight, or wasted, ensuring timely referrals to health facilities, and diligently following up on their progress.
Your Role: Weaving Financial Integrity into Social Fabric
As our Accountant, you'll be the guardian of financial probity, ensuring every rupee invested maximizes its impact on the children and communities we serve. Your meticulous attention to detail and sound financial management will empower the RCI to flourish and expand its reach.
Your pivotal responsibilities will include:
Upholding Financial Governance: Ensuring strict adherence to the financial policies and regulations set by both the organization and our funding Foundation.
Precision in Bookkeeping: Skillfully managing all accounting transactions and maintaining impeccably updated books of accounts.
Strategic Financial Analysis: Conducting thorough budget variance analyses and crafting accurate budget forecasts to guide future planning.
Transparent Reporting: Preparing and submitting comprehensive financial reports to the Foundation in a timely and accurate manner.
Seamless Closures: Expertly handling both monthly and annual closing procedures for all financial records.
Reconciliation & Tax Compliance: Preparing precise monthly bank reconciliation statements, accurately computing taxes, and ensuring timely preparation and filing of all tax returns.
Balance Sheet Mastery: Constructing and maintaining the organization's balance sheet with precision.
Auditing & Oversight: Diligently auditing financial transactions and documents, and crucially, extending financial oversight through regular monitoring visits to crèche activities.

Do you meet these essential criteria?
A Commerce Graduate with a track record of successfully managing books of accounts for NGOs.
A comprehensive understanding of accounting regulations and procedures.
Proficiency in accounting software like Tally or QuickBooks.
In-depth knowledge of statutory laws pertaining to Income Tax and FCRA.
Strong command of MS Word and MS Excel.
Exceptional analytical skills to interpret financial data and inform decisions.
Proven experience in independently handling audits.
Additional points to note:
Mobility is key: You must own a bike/two-wheeler for essential travel within the Dharamjaigarh block.
We strongly prefer local candidates from Chhattisgarh, fostering local talent and community integration.
This is a truly field-based, full-time role located in the Dharamjaigarh block, requiring active on-ground engagement.
