The Role: Assistant General Manager – Agri Business
This pivotal role will be at the forefront of the foundation's efforts to drive market linkages and enhance the value chain for Farmer-Producer Organizations (FPOs), Self-Help Groups (SHGs), and other SwitchON-supported enterprises. You will be responsible for bridging the gap between rural producers and reliable markets, ensuring fair prices and sustainable growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Market Development: Develop and execute strategies to secure markets for FPO/SHG produce. This includes building relationships with a wide range of buyers, from wholesalers to exporters.
Business Growth: Meet annual sales targets for FPOs/SHGs, negotiating contracts and ensuring profitable returns for farmers. You will also support FPOs with business planning, branding, and marketing strategies.
Supply Chain Management: Design and manage efficient systems for aggregation, logistics, and distribution, ensuring products meet quality standards and certifications.
Brand Strategy: Collaborate on go-to-market strategies, including branding, packaging, and creating marketing materials to boost the visibility of farmer products.
The ideal candidate will have strong business acumen, expertise in supply chain management, and excellent communication and negotiation skills.
Who Should Apply?
If you have a minimum of 8–10 years of experience in agri-marketing, FPO development, or rural enterprise promotion, this could be your next big career move. SwitchON is flexible for candidates with 5+ years of experience who can demonstrate a proven track record of facilitating over Rs 5+ crore in annual sales.
Education: A Master's degree in Agribusiness Management, Rural Development, or a related field is required.

Skills: Strong knowledge of agri-value chains, data analysis, and stakeholder management are essential.
Location: The position is based in either West Bengal or Maharashtra, with significant travel (50-60%) across Eastern & Western India.
Languages: Proficiency in Hindi and English is mandatory, with Bengali or Marathi as a plus.
Compensation: A competitive annual CTC of Rs 8–9 Lakhs is offered, along with variable pay and a commitment bonus based on experience and qualifications.
