As an Assistant Nurse, you'll play a pivotal role in delivering this loving and competent care directly within the community.

Your Role as an Assistant Nurse

As an Assistant Nurse reporting to the Program Officer, you will be a critical link between patients, their families, and the palliative care team. Your core responsibilities will involve:

  • Participating in community surveys and raising awareness about palliative care.

  • Identifying palliative patients and building rapport with them and their families.

  • Providing essential basic nursing and psychosocial support, including bereavement support.

  • Offering symptom management support through non-pharmacological options.

  • Helping patients access local resources and ensuring medication compliance.

  • Identifying community volunteers and connecting patients and caregivers to relevant helplines.

  • Providing continuous home care under medical supervision and following up on patient and carer needs.

  • Maintaining daily reports and participating in documentation, training, and micro-planning processes.

Who Are We Looking For?

SNEHA is seeking candidates with a minimum of an SSC/HSC degree and a Nursing Assistant Course completed from a recognized institution. You should also have 1-2 years of experience in community health, palliative care, or similar social work roles.
