Empowering Lives at the Grassroots: Elixir Foundation is Hiring a Community Manager for Project Sashakt
Are you passionate about social change, grassroots development, and making a tangible difference in marginalized communities? Elixir Foundation, a leading non-profit organization dedicated to "gifting lives," has announced an exciting career opportunity. The foundation is currently seeking a driven, empathetic, and motivated Community Manager to spearhead on-field operations for its flagship initiative, Project Sashakt, in Ahmedabad, Gujarat.
If you have a background in social work and a heart for community transformation, this could be your next big career move.
About the Initiative: What is Project Sashakt?
Launched in 2021, Project Sashakt is a holistic community empowerment initiative run by the Elixir Foundation. The project operates within the industrial belt of Ahmedabad City, specifically targeting the Narol region.
Unlike traditional development programs that focus on isolated demographics, Project Sashakt stands out for its unique, family-centric approach. Its primary goal is to foster community development and sustainable growth for migrant and factory worker families. By focusing on the ecosystem of the entire family rather than a specific age or gender group, the initiative ensures long-term, multi-generational progress for marginalized communities.
The Role: Community Manager (Narol, Ahmedabad)
As a Community Manager, you will be the bridge between the Elixir Foundation and the families residing in Narol. This is an on-field, high-impact role requiring a blend of leadership, empathy, and strong organizational skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Bridge the Gap: Establish and maintain smooth, transparent communication channels between the local community and the organization.
Advocate for the Community: Actively overlook, identify, and address the daily issues and systemic requirements of community members.
On-Field Leadership: Volunteer for and manage essential events, boot camps, and community surveys as and when necessary.
Meticulous Reporting: Maintain comprehensive documentation and provide regular progress reports to the organization’s leadership.
Strategic Collaboration: Identify, connect, and coordinate with partner organizations to scale the project's impact.
Eligibility Criteria: Who Should Apply?
Elixir Foundation is looking for professionals who combine academic knowledge with practical field experience.
1. Educational Background
Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Social Work (BSW/MSW) or equivalent courses in sociology, development studies, or related fields.
2. Professional Experience
A minimum of 1 year of proven experience in community development, project implementation, or related grassroots sectors.
Prior experience working specifically with underprivileged, migrant, or marginalized communities is highly preferred.
Why Join Elixir Foundation?
Working with Elixir Foundation on Project Sashakt offers more than just a job—it offers a purpose.
Direct Impact: You will see the direct results of your hard work in the smiles and upgraded living standards of factory workers and migrant families.
Professional Growth: Gain hands-on experience in project management, stakeholder coordination, and field research.
A Collaborative Culture: Work alongside a team of like-minded individuals who believe in grassroots development and social justice.
