About the Organization: NYST's Mission
Founded in 1997, the Nehru Yuva Sangathan-Tisi began with a focus on organizing rural unemployed youth, with the core mission of fostering self-reliance and facilitating social change. Registered as a non-profit, NYST works tirelessly across Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, and Jharkhand. Its mission centers on the holistic development of socially excluded and deprived people, ensuring women, children, and marginalized sections are aware of and empowered to secure their rights.
The Project: Supporting the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM)
NYST is currently engaged as an Implementing Support Agency (ISA) for the JJM in Madhya Pradesh, supported by the Madhya Pradesh Jal Nigam. The project locations are the Bhitarwar and Ghatigaon blocks in the Gwalior District. This critical project aims to provide functional household tap connections (FHTCs) and promote sustainable water management practices.
Role of a Community Mobilizer
As a Community Mobilizer, you will be the bridge between the project and the community, ensuring participatory planning and effective execution. Your core roles and responsibilities include:
JJM Compliance: Ensuring every village and habitation is covered with FHTCs as per JJM guidelines.
Participatory Planning: Facilitating PRA (Participatory Rural Appraisal) activities and preparing VAPs (Village Action Plans) through a community-driven approach.
Institutional Setup: Ensuring the proper constitution of VWSCs (Village Water and Sanitation Committees) in every village, adhering to MP JJM guidelines.
Coordination and Liaison: Acting as a crucial link between the Gram Panchayat, block-level officers, and other line departments.
Capacity Building: Providing essential support for capacity building plans, IEC (Information, Education, and Communication) activities, surveys, and social mobilization efforts.
Monitoring and Evaluation: Regularly supporting, monitoring, and evaluating the JJM program to ensure milestones and objectives are achieved within the set timeframe.
Who Should Apply?
NYST is looking for motivated individuals who meet the following Minimum Qualification & Experience criteria:
Qualification: Graduate in any discipline.
Experience: A minimum of 1 year of field experience in the social development sector, with a background in planning, social mobilization, and monitoring. Experience in areas like Drinking Water, Community Management, Water Quality, Rainwater Harvesting, and Gender in rural development is highly desirable.
Age Limit: Maximum age is 35 years.
Compensation: An honorarium of approximately Rs. 12,000.00 per month, plus travel allowance (TA).
