The Role: Community Organizer – Driving Impact from the Ground Up
As a Community Organizer, you will serve as the crucial link between Prayatn and the communities it serves. This is a dynamic, field-based position demanding direct engagement and a nuanced understanding of local contexts. You'll play a vital role in implementing planned programs, nurturing the growth of community-based institutions, and embodying the organization's presence at the grassroots level.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Strategic Planning & Implementation: Develop and execute monthly activity plans, travel schedules, and event-specific strategies within your designated project area.
Community Mobilization & Strengthening: Facilitate the formation and robust development of community groups, ensuring their active involvement in project endeavors.
Data Collection & Reporting: Contribute to baseline assessments, assist in research efforts, meticulously document success stories, and compile comprehensive progress reports.
Program Oversight & Quality Assurance: Supervise the execution of planned activities, monitor the evolution of community institutions, and evaluate improvements in the quality of education within formal schools.
Local Governance Linkages: Establish and strengthen vital connections with local government bodies and Panchayat Raj Institutions (PRIs) to enhance project reach and effectiveness.
Who We Are Looking For
Prayatn invites applications from enthusiastic individuals holding a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Social Work or Sociology. Recent MSW graduates are particularly encouraged to apply!
Essential Prerequisites:
Personal Vehicle: Possession of a vehicle for field travel is a mandatory requirement.
Computer Proficiency: Demonstrated working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
Community Commitment: A genuine eagerness to work directly with communities and a strong dedication to Prayatn's vision.

Compensation and Work Locations
The compensation package for this position ranges from INR 1,62,000 to INR 1,80,000 per annum, commensurate with the candidate's experience and suitability. The primary work locations are in the Chilika block of Puri and Rayagada block of Rayagada in Odisha. This role offers the prospect of a minimum two-year engagement with the organization, with the possibility of extension contingent on satisfactory performance and continued project funding.
