Your Role: Consultant Occupational Therapist

As a Consultant Occupational Therapist, you will be instrumental in empowering individuals with disabilities or limitations to lead fulfilling and independent lives. This position is based at CHOTTA SION HOSPITAL in Dharavi and reports directly to the Associate Program Director.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Assessment: Evaluating patients' abilities and needs to pinpoint areas for enhancement.

  • Treatment Planning: Crafting personalized treatment plans to meet patients' specific objectives and requirements.

  • Therapeutic Interventions: Employing diverse techniques, such as exercises, adaptive equipment, and cognitive training, to help patients develop or recover essential skills.

  • Education and Training: Instructing patients and their caregivers on the proper use of adaptive equipment, how to perform daily tasks, and how to maintain a safe and healthy environment.

  • Collaboration: Working effectively with other healthcare professionals, including physical therapists, nurses, nurse aides, counsellors, and physicians, to ensure comprehensive patient care.

Essential Qualifications and Experience:

  • Educational Requirement: A Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy.

  • Experience: A minimum of 5 years of prior experience working in a hospital setting.

  • Critical Trait: Previous experience in palliative care is highly valued.
