ADRA India Job Vacancy: CSO Coordinator for Immunization Project in Uttar Pradesh
The Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA) India has announced a significant career opportunity for a dedicated public health professional to join their team as a CSO Coordinator. This pivotal role is based in Ghazipur, Uttar Pradesh, and will be instrumental in a life-saving project aimed at strengthening routine immunization and reaching "zero-dose children" across the Ghazipur and Chandauli districts.
The deadline for applications is September 20, 2025.
About the Organization: ADRA India
ADRA India is a prominent humanitarian and development agency dedicated to empowering economically deprived and socially marginalized communities. As part of the global ADRA network, the organization operates across nine key impact areas, including Community Health, Child Welfare, and Disaster Response. This role is part of a critical health and nutrition initiative supported by UNICEF under the Gavi HSS-3 vaccine alliance, aligning with national and state health policies.
The Mission: Tackling Zero-Dose Immunization in Uttar Pradesh
Despite significant progress in routine immunization coverage in Uttar Pradesh, a persistent challenge remains: identifying and vaccinating "zero-dose children" – those who have not received a single vaccine. These children and their families are often scattered, facing various barriers to accessing healthcare.
The CSO Coordinator will be at the forefront of a community-centric approach to address this gap. The project focuses on robust community mobilization to identify these left-out children, understand the reasons for non-vaccination, and motivate parents and caregivers to ensure their children receive complete immunization.
Role and Responsibilities of the CSO Coordinator
Reporting to the Project Coordinator, the CSO Coordinator will manage a team of Cluster Coordinators and drive the effective implementation of immunization strategies on the ground.
Key responsibilities include:
Team Leadership: Overseeing, guiding, and reviewing the activities of Cluster Coordinators to ensure project targets are met.
Strategic Coordination: Liaising with the District Magistrate, Chief Medical Officer (CMO), District Immunization Officer (DIO), and other government departments to mobilize support for routine immunization.
Advocacy and Planning: Participating in District Task Force (DTF) meetings to develop, implement, and monitor district-level social mobilization plans.
Community Mobilization: Catalysing a network of NGOs, community-based organizations, religious leaders, and educational institutions to promote immunization in underserved and reluctant communities.
Capacity Building: Strengthening the skills of Cluster Coordinators and Front-Line Workers (FLWs) like ASHAs through training, monthly meetings, and continuous programmatic guidance.
Monitoring and Reporting: Compiling qualitative feedback, documenting best practices, capturing human interest stories, and providing weekly and monthly reports on progress and challenges.
