The Role: Data Analyst – Programs & Impact
As a Data Analyst – Programs & Impact, you'll be pivotal in gathering, managing, analyzing, and visualizing data to showcase the organization's influence and bolster resource mobilization efforts. Reporting directly to the DGM Strategy & Innovations, you'll play a central role in guaranteeing data accuracy, extracting actionable insights, and supporting robust monitoring and evaluation (M&E) initiatives.
Core Responsibilities Include:
Data Stewardship: Ensuring the timely collection of data, maintaining meticulous databases, and upholding data quality and consistency.
Insight Generation: Performing descriptive, comparative, and predictive analyses, developing insightful dashboards and reports, and identifying performance discrepancies.
Impact Assessment & M&E Support: Collaborating with the M&E team to define key indicators, design logical frameworks, and conduct data-driven evaluations.
Technology Empowerment: Recommending and deploying effective data visualization and analysis tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Excel, Google Data Studio) and training staff in their use.
Who Can Make a Difference?
CanKids is looking for individuals who possess:
A Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Statistics, Data Science, Economics, Social Research, or a related field.
3-5 years of experience in data analysis, preferably within a nonprofit, development, or public health context.
Strong proficiency in Excel, SQL, and data visualization tools.
Excellent numerical and analytical capabilities, coupled with an unwavering commitment to data integrity.
The ability to clearly convey complex technical information to non-technical audiences.
Prior experience with statistical tools (SPSS, R, Python, Stata), MIS systems, mobile data collection (Kobo, ODK), or GIS mapping would be a significant advantage.
