Your Crucial Role: Program Implementation and Capacity Building
This role is for a dynamic leader with a strong commitment to quality and field engagement. Reporting to the Program Manager – North East/Associate Director - Education, you will be the lynchpin for program delivery, ensuring the strategic alignment of all educational efforts.
Primary Responsibilities Include:
Program Leadership: Lead and coordinate the delivery of key programs, including Ullas Libraries (managing book procurement, operations, and conducting Reading Level Assessments - RLA), the Ullas Science Learning Program (managing kit distribution and teacher training), and facilitating CAN DO Workshops and SUMMIT sessions.
Stakeholder Engagement: Act as the single point of contact for education in Assam. Build and nurture relationships with schools, teachers, partner NGOs, and local volunteers to enhance program reach and impact.
Capacity Building: Identify, train, and engage volunteers to ensure the scalability and sustainability of the initiatives.
Monitoring & Reporting: Conduct regular field visits (up to 70% travel is required) to monitor progress, interact with ground staff, and collect timely, accurate data for analysis and reporting. Maintain records and prepare weekly/monthly reports.
Who We're Looking For
To excel in this role, you must bring a combination of academic background, hands-on experience, and a genuine 'Can-Do' attitude:
Education: A Postgraduate degree in Social Work, Social Sciences, Rural Development, or Education.
Experience: Minimum 2 years of proven experience in implementing educational interventions, particularly in rural India, with sound pedagogy for joyful learning (reading and science focus). Hands-on expertise in facilitating science demonstrations and conducting reading assessments is highly valued.
Skills:
Strong communication and collaboration skills—proficient in Assamese with a working knowledge of Hindi and English.
Self-starter with strong empathy, integrity, and curiosity.
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently to meet deadlines.
Proficiency in MS Office Suite and Google Workspace.
