Bangalore/Delhi, India – Social Alpha, an innovative platform dedicated to solving critical social, economic, and environmental challenges, is actively seeking two highly skilled and compliance-focused Finance Managers – FCRA Compliance & Assurance. This pivotal role will be instrumental in upholding the integrity and compliance of all foreign-funded activities, reinforcing Social Alpha's commitment to transparency and accountability. The application window closes on August 2, 2025, with immediate onboarding for qualified candidates.

A Cornerstone Role in Mission-Driven Finance

Distinct from a typical accounting position, this role at Social Alpha is primarily centered on assurance and control. The Finance Manager won't handle daily transactions but will serve as a key safeguard, meticulously verifying and certifying that every rupee expended from FCRA (Foreign Contribution Regulation Act) funds is accurate, fully compliant, justified, and thoroughly documented. This dedicated focus is vital for ensuring regulatory adherence, fostering trust with program partners, and ultimately enabling the smooth execution of Social Alpha's impactful, mission-aligned initiatives.

Ensuring Rigorous Compliance and Partner Confidence

The core responsibilities highlight the significance of this position:

  • FCRA Assurance & Fund Utilization: Independently confirming that all FCRA fund expenditures are programmatically sound, financially precise, adequately documented, within budgetary limits, and in complete adherence to FCRA definitions and regulations. This includes reviewing and approving Utilization Certificates (UCs) prior to submission.

  • Documentation & Audit Preparedness: Establishing robust assurance checklists and verification protocols, ensuring comprehensive audit trails for all inspections, and validating statutory filings like Form FC-4 with fully reconciled documentation.

  • Internal Controls & Capacity Building: Developing and implementing strong internal control processes aligned with FCRA guidelines, conducting regular internal audits, and educating internal teams on crucial FCRA compliance requirements.

  • Governance & Reporting: Supporting the CFO with essential compliance-related reporting for the board, statutory authorities, and program partners, while assisting with governance reviews and data preparation.

Who Social Alpha Is Looking For

Social Alpha is seeking Chartered Accountants with in-depth knowledge of the FCRA Act 2010 and Rules 2011 (including all subsequent amendments). Ideal candidates will have a minimum of seven years of experience in non-profit financial management, with a demonstrable track record in FCRA compliance and fund assurance. A solid grasp of statutory audits, program partner compliance requirements, and financial control systems is essential, along with experience in grant utilization reviews and audit coordination.

Beyond technical expertise, Social Alpha values unwavering integrity, a zero-tolerance stance on non-compliance, an analytical mindset with acute attention to detail, and sound judgment in balancing programmatic and financial priorities. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are also vital for effective cross-functional collaboration.
