Field Associate Jobs in Nagpur: Farmers for Forests Hiring for Thermal Comfort Park Project
Nagpur's urban landscape is set to get greener, and the organisation driving that change is looking for people to help make it happen on the ground. Farmers for Forests (F4F) has opened four positions for Field Associates to work on its Thermal Comfort Park Project in Nagpur — a role built for people who'd rather be out in the field than behind a desk.
About the Opportunity
Farmers for Forests protects and increases India's forest cover while empowering rural communities for a sustainable future, and its work typically blends ecological restoration with community collaboration. The Thermal Comfort Park initiative extends that mission into an urban setting, aiming to reduce heat stress in city spaces through planned greening — a growing priority as Indian cities face rising temperatures and shrinking green cover. give
This is a full-time, on-site position based in Nagpur, Maharashtra, with four openings available and a monthly compensation of ₹2.5–3.5 LPA.
What Field Associates Will Do
The role is hands-on by design. Selected candidates will be responsible for:
On-site monitoring and site identification — scouting and assessing locations relevant to the park project
Field survey and data collection — gathering ground-level data that feeds into project planning and reporting
Contractor coordination — liaising with on-ground contractors to keep work aligned with project timelines
Quality and compliance checks — ensuring on-site work meets required standards
Logistics support — helping keep day-to-day field operations running smoothly
As the job posting puts it plainly: this is a field role, not a desk job.
Who Should Apply
Farmers for Forests is looking for candidates with:
A Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Environmental Studies, Ecology, Forestry, Horticulture, Botany, Landscape Design, or a related discipline
1–3 years of relevant experience (preferred, not mandatory)
Freshers with strong internship experience in similar field-based or environmental projects are also welcome to apply
Candidates who are already based in Nagpur or can relocate immediately
Proficiency in Hindi and/or Marathi, since the role involves regular interaction with local contractors and communities
Why This Role Matters
Urban heat islands are becoming a serious concern across Indian cities, and projects like the Thermal Comfort Park reflect a shift toward nature-based solutions for climate resilience. For someone starting out in environmental science, ecology, or forestry, a role like this offers direct, practical exposure to how green infrastructure projects are actually implemented — from site selection to contractor management to quality control — rather than just the planning side of conservation work.
It's also a good entry point for freshers who've done fieldwork during their studies and want a full-time role that builds on that experience rather than starting them off in an office.
