The Role: Finance Coordinator – Essential for Operational Effectiveness

The Finance Coordinator will assume a pivotal role within SNEHA's Central Operations Finance Department. This department forms the organizational backbone, overseeing essential functions from accounting and budgeting to payroll processing, statutory compliances, and audits.

Reporting to the Finance Consultant, your key responsibilities will encompass:

  • Budget Oversight: Meticulously tracking project budgets against actual expenditures, ensuring strict adherence to approved allocations and budget notes.

  • Authorization & Verification: Approving payment vouchers up to ₹10,000 in Tally and the payment tracker, while ensuring accurate mapping of funder-specific cost codes.

  • Financial Reconciliation: Conducting quarterly reconciliation of earmarked funds and ensuring monthly reconciliation of staff/vendor advances, prepaid/outstanding expenses, and other allocations.

  • Compliance & Accuracy: Cross-verifying Tally entries against physical vouchers monthly and reviewing all TDS-related entries for precision.

  • Onboarding & Capacity Building: Conducting finance process inductions for new staff to align them with SNEHA’s financial protocols.

  • Audit & Documentation: Coordinating and compiling financial records for funder audits, ensuring accurate reflection of project balances at closing and opening stages in Tally.

  • Salary & Reimbursement Management: Updating and approving monthly staff reimbursements (conveyance, telephone) and consultant allocations within designated approval limits.

  • Interdepartmental Coordination: Liaising effectively with program and domain teams to ensure smooth financial implementation and timely process adherence.

  • Regulatory Support: Assisting the Finance Supervisor in establishing and maintaining compliance processes as per funder requirements, including report and documentation preparation.

Who Should Apply?

SNEHA is seeking a finance professional with the following qualifications:

  • Educational Background: A Master's Degree or higher in Commerce/Financial Management with a minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience, OR a Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 10 years of relevant work experience.

  • Professional Experience: A minimum of 3 years of similar work experience within an accounts/finance department. Prior experience in the non-profit sector is highly desirable.

  • Technical Proficiency: Strong working knowledge of Tally ERP 9 and MS Office (Word, Excel, PPT) is essential.

  • Critical Traits: In-depth understanding of accounting principles, effective planning and implementation skills for timely task completion, problem-solving ability, capacity to multi-task, effective team management and delegation skills, and strong written and oral communication.
