1. Financial Strategy & Planning
The Finance Head will be instrumental in leading the development and execution of the organization’s financial strategy, ensuring it aligns seamlessly with core program priorities. This includes:
Budget Management: Overseeing the preparation, execution, and monitoring of both organizational and donor-specific budgets.
Sustainability: Conducting rigorous forecasting, cost analysis, and resource planning to guarantee long-term financial health.
Policy Development: Establishing and maintaining financial management policies that meet best practices and NGO governance standards.
2. Regulatory Compliance & Reporting Excellence
Maintaining 100% compliance with India's complex regulatory landscape is paramount. The role demands deep expertise in:
Statutory Compliance: Ensuring adherence to FCRA, Income Tax, CSR, and all other applicable laws.
Reporting: Delivering timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including P&L, balance sheets, cash flow forecasts, and budget variance reports.
Audit Leadership: Efficiently managing all audit processes—statutory, donor, and internal—and ensuring the swift closure of any findings.
3. Donor & Grant Oversight
Effective management of restricted and unrestricted funds is crucial for the Foundation's impact. Key responsibilities include:
Compliance: Supervising fund utilization to ensure strict adherence to all grant agreements and providing accurate donor-specific financial reporting.
Collaboration: Working closely with program teams to align financial planning with project objectives and providing financial inputs for new proposals and fundraising efforts.
4. Internal Controls and Risk Mitigation
The Finance Head will be responsible for creating a robust and secure financial environment. This involves:
Internal Controls: Strengthening approval workflows, documentation, and implementing strong audit trails for all transactions.
Risk Management: Developing strategies to monitor and mitigate financial risks, including proactive cash reserves and liquidity planning.

Success in this role is measured by critical Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), including timely report submissions, achieving budget utilization variance within 10%, and maintaining $\ge 98\%$ accuracy in donor financial reports.
The ideal candidate will possess:
Education: CA, ICWA, MBA (Finance), or M.Com with a strong background in non-profit accounting.
Experience: Minimum 10 years of financial management experience, with specific leadership tenure in a non-profit or donor environment.
Skills: Expertise in Indian NGO regulatory frameworks, strategic financial acumen, proficiency in advanced Excel and accounting software, and exceptional communication skills.
