The Nehru Centre Is Expanding: Join Us as a Research Associate
After a successful run of two years, The Nehru Centre is entering an expansionary phase. It is opening a new centre in Hyderabad and strengthening its main centre in New Delhi. To support this growth, the Centre is hiring four Research Associates: two for Hyderabad and two for New Delhi.
Who We Are Looking For
The Centre wants curious, analytical, and politically aware people who enjoy digging into big questions. Research Associates will study democracy, economic and public policy, governance, and contemporary politics. They will then turn what they learn into clear, accessible, and compelling content that informs and engages the public.
What the Role Involves
Research Associates will carry out rigorous qualitative research across historical, economic, political, and social issues. That means reading, analysing, and synthesising complex data, reports, policy documents, and research papers.
The work does not stop at research. Associates will translate their findings into simple, engaging, and accurate content for social media and public outreach. They will also write fact-based rebuttals to misinformation and misleading narratives, grounded in credible evidence and clear communication.
Day to day, the role includes:
Fact-checking and verifying sources
Preparing research briefs, background notes, and talking points
Spotting data points, trends, and insights that resonate with diverse audiences
Keeping up with political developments and contributing timely research inputs
Who Should Apply
The Centre is looking for candidates with:
A Master's degree in History, Political Science, Economics, Public Policy, Sociology, or a related discipline
Strong research, analytical, and critical thinking skills
Good writing and communication skills
Close attention to detail and a commitment to factual accuracy
For the Hyderabad centre, knowledge of Telugu is an advantage, though not a requirement.
