Chaitanya is currently hiring a Gender Program Coordinator to lead and support district-level gender initiatives across Amravati, Pune, and Nashik.
About the Role
The Gender Program Coordinator will play a pivotal role in supporting district teams to implement and monitor Gender Resource Centres (GRCs) and related activities. The position involves close coordination with key government departments, hands-on support in case handling and documentation, and driving effective communication and convergence at the district level. This is a hands-on, field-facing role ideal for someone committed to gender justice and grassroots impact.
Key Responsibilities
1. District Plan and Implementation of GRCs
Build the capacities of Gender Master Trainers and Gender Point Persons
Identify and train Counsellors
Monitor district teams and conduct training needs assessments
Evaluate training sessions and provide feedback to trainers
2. Support in Case Handling
Provide guidance to district teams and counsellors on complex cases, directly or through referrals
Ensure cases are smoothly referred to the Women and Child Development (WCD) department or police
Support documentation of case records
3. Convergence with Other Departments
Conduct regular coordination meetings with Police, WCD, and SLSA (State Legal Services Authority)
Participate in events organized by partner government departments
Plan joint trainings and workshops on shared thematic areas with government officials
4. Communication and Documentation
Prepare manuals and documentation; oversee translation into local languages
Assist the finance team with reporting to external agencies
Ensure all policy changes are communicated clearly to field teams
Who Can Apply?
Chaitanya is looking for candidates who meet the following criteria:
Post-graduation in Social Work, Gender Studies, Rural Development, or a related field
Minimum 5+ years of relevant experience in the development sector, particularly in gender, women's issues, or government programmes
Strong communication, facilitation, and coordination skills
A solid understanding of gender issues and how government systems function
Comfort working with digital tools and documentation
Willingness to travel within the assigned district
