The Opportunity: More Than Just a Job

As a Livelihood Retail Trainer, you will be at the forefront of our mission to create sustainable livelihoods. You'll be responsible for equipping aspiring individuals with the essential skills needed to thrive in the fast-paced retail sector. This role goes beyond traditional teaching; you will be a mentor, a guide, and a crucial link to career opportunities for your trainees.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

• Training Delivery: Conduct highly interactive and engaging training sessions covering all facets of retail, including superior customer service, effective sales techniques, and efficient store operations. You'll utilize a variety of methods like role-playing, case studies, and real-world simulations to ensure learning is practical and impactful.

• Curriculum Development: Design, develop, and continuously update training materials, presentations, and assessment tools. You will adapt content to meet the diverse needs of learners and integrate real-world retail challenges to provide valuable hands-on experience.

• Learner Mentorship: Assess trainee progress through practical demonstrations, tests, and continuous feedback. Your guidance will be key to building their skills, confidence, and workplace readiness. You will also maintain meticulous records of their performance and growth.

• Industry Connection & Placement Support: Act as a bridge to the professional world. You will stay current with retail industry trends and collaborate with businesses to create job opportunities for your graduates. This includes providing vital support in resume building and interview preparation.

• Reporting and Impact: Document and report on training progress, ensuring all activities align with organizational guidelines. You will also help capture success stories to measure and improve the program's impact.

Who We're Looking For

We are seeking a candidate who is not only skilled in retail but also passionate about education and youth empowerment. The ideal person for this role will have:

• Deep Retail Knowledge: A strong understanding of the retail sector, sales strategies, and customer service excellence.

• Exceptional Skills: Outstanding communication, presentation, and interpersonal abilities with a talent for motivating learners from various backgrounds.

• Experience & Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree or diploma in Retail Management, Business, Hospitality, or a related field is preferred.

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in retail training, sales, or store management.

  • Previous experience as a trainer, facilitator, or mentor is a significant advantage.

• Personal Attributes: A highly organized individual with a passion for making a difference.
