About the Opportunity

Recognising this, Sir Syed Trust is strengthening its field presence by hiring a dedicated Livestock Executive who can combine veterinary support with community mobilisation. The selected candidate will report directly to the Project Coordinator and will be based full-time in Kudraha, Basti, working closely with local farmers, Self-Help Groups (SHGs), Pashu Pathshalas, and Pashu Sakhis.
Key Responsibilities of the Role
The Livestock Executive will play a central role in improving animal health outcomes and farmer capacity in the project area. Core duties include:
Delivering first-line animal healthcare services for goats, including vaccination, deworming, and first aid
Supporting farmers in adopting improved goat management and rearing practices
Conducting training sessions with farmers, Pashu Pathshala groups, and Pashu Sakhis
Facilitating Artificial Insemination (AI) and breeding services within the community
Maintaining accurate records of treatments, vaccinations, and farmer interactions
Acting as a liaison between farmers, community groups, and professional veterinary services
Eligibility Criteria and Required Skills
Sir Syed Trust is looking for candidates who meet the following qualifications:
A postgraduate degree in Sociology or Social Work, along with a minimum of 3 years of experience in goat improvement practices
A Diploma or Certificate in Animal Husbandry, Veterinary Assistance, or Paravet training
Mandatory certification in Artificial Insemination (AI)
Prior experience in goat rearing or broader livestock management is considered a strong advantage
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with rural communities
Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned project areas
