About the Role
AKAH India is hiring a Manager – Communications and Knowledge Management to be based in Mumbai, reporting directly to the Head – Knowledge Management and Partnerships. This is a leadership-level position that blends strategic communications, digital media management, content creation, and brand stewardship — all centered on AKAH's climate change and sustainability programming.
The selected candidate will play a central role in shaping how AKAH India tells its story, both internally and externally, while working closely with programme teams to translate on-ground work into compelling knowledge products.
Key Responsibilities
The role is broad and multi-disciplinary, covering:
Strategic communications – developing and executing communication strategies aligned with organizational goals
Digital presence – managing AKAH India's website and social media channels
Content development – producing newsletters, annual reports, case studies, films, and videos
Knowledge management – capturing and packaging programme learnings for internal and external audiences
Stakeholder coordination – working across teams and with external partners to ensure consistent messaging and branding
Who Should Apply
AKAH India is looking for candidates who bring:
Minimum 6 years of experience in a similar communications role
A master's degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field
Strong skills in writing, editing, proofreading, layout and design, and publishing
A solid grasp of social media strategy and current communication trends and tools
Domain knowledge in urban and climate studies is considered a strong plus
Excellent coordination, organizational, and stakeholder-management abilities
