Key Role and Impact: Drive Financial Integrity for Educational Excellence
Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), the Manager - Finance & Accounts will be the linchpin for all finance, accounting, and statutory compliance functions. This leadership position demands both strategic oversight and hands-on operational management, ensuring financial sustainability and transparency for Muktangan's innovative model.
The successful candidate will not only supervise a dedicated team but will also play a crucial role in senior-level engagement, including preparing and delivering presentations to the board’s finance and audit committees. This role is central to maintaining the financial health required to scale Muktangan’s impactful "Hub and Spokes" model.
Core Responsibilities: Beyond the Balance Sheet
This is a comprehensive financial leadership role encompassing:
Financial & Audit Oversight: Ensuring all accounts and reporting systems meet regulatory requirements.
Internal Controls & Budget Management: Implementing robust internal controls to safeguard revenue and manage program budgets, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
Financial Reporting & Analysis: Providing senior leadership with timely, accurate financial reports and critical analysis of the organization's financial status.
Donor & Grants Compliance: Finalizing funding agreements and strictly adhering to all donor reporting requirements for vital grants administration.
Statutory Compliance Mastery: Ensuring complete compliance with key legal frameworks, including the Income Tax Act, Maharashtra Public Trust Act, and Foreign Contribution Regulation Act (FCRA).
Treasury Management: Prudently managing the organization’s treasury functions and investment strategies.
Who They're Looking For: Qualifications and Competencies
Muktangan seeks a highly competent professional with a deep commitment to the organization’s mission.
Educational Background & Experience:
Preferred: Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA).
Alternatively: Inter CA or M. Com with three to six years of relevant work experience.
Required Competencies:
Proven experience in managing accounting, audits, reporting, and statutory compliances of Charitable Trusts.
Complete knowledge of FCRA compliances is essential.
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills for effective presentation of key data to senior management, the board, and external partners.
Possessing personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and an unwavering commitment to educational and social impact.
A strong ability to be an independent, analytical problem-solver who can also work collaboratively.
