The Role: Manager – Gender Trainer

Based in Mohali, Punjab, the Manager – Gender Trainer will work closely with the State Lead to design, implement, and evaluate gender-focused training programs. This is a leadership role responsible for spearheading training activities across the state.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Content & Curriculum Development: Creating engaging and effective training content, including curricula and toolkits, for various stakeholders on critical gender issues.

  • Strategic Planning & Execution: Developing quarterly training plans for Breakthrough's scale-up project in Punjab and ensuring their timely and successful delivery.

  • Government & Stakeholder Coordination: Liaising with government departments at the state and district levels to facilitate the smooth implementation of training plans.

  • Training Facilitation: Leading and co-facilitating dynamic training sessions for a diverse audience, including government officials, teachers, and youth.

  • Monitoring & Reporting: Overseeing training activities across the state, providing regular progress updates to the leadership team, and assisting in the preparation of donor reports.

Who Should Apply? The Ideal Candidate Profile

Breakthrough is seeking a self-starter and a dedicated team player with a deep understanding of gender, rights, and sexuality issues. The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Experience: A minimum of 5-8 years of relevant experience in a similar field. Prior experience specifically in gender training and working with government bodies is highly desirable.

  • Education: A Master’s degree in Social Work, Gender Studies, or an equivalent field is preferred.

  • Skills:

    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.

    • Excellent communication and writing skills, with a strong command of Punjabi and Hindi being a significant advantage.

    • The ability to thrive under pressure, navigate uncertainty, and develop long-term, generative solutions.
