Role Overview: Market Linkage Expert

A Market Linkage Expert bridges the gap between rural farmers and mainstream commercial markets. This role is crucial for ensuring that farmers do not just produce crops, but successfully monetize them through structured, highly efficient agri-value chains.

• Locations: Guwahati (Assam) & Cooch Behar (West Bengal)

• Target Crops: Paddy, Maize, Potato, and other major regional crops.

Key Responsibilities

The selected candidate will be responsible for designing and executing strategies that connect Agri-Entrepreneurs (AEs) and farmers directly to high-value markets. Core responsibilities include:

• Value Chain Mapping: Analyzing major crop cycles (paddy, maize, potato) and identifying critical market actors to optimize supply routes.

• Strategic Partnerships: Building and nurturing robust collaborations with input suppliers, aggregators, crop processors, and large-scale institutional buyers.

• Market & Buy-Back Linkages: Facilitating direct market linkages, buy-back arrangements, and collective crop aggregation through a network of local Agri-Entrepreneurs.

• Capacity Building: Conducting targeted business training for Agri-Entrepreneurs focusing on crucial commercial skills like marketing, grading, storage, and value addition.

• Digital Integration: Supporting AEs with modern branding, packaging solutions, and leveraging digital ecosystems like e-NAM (National Agriculture Market) and other agri-tech platforms.

• B2B Networking: Organizing strategic buyer-seller meets, trade fairs, and exposure visits to foster direct trade relationships.

• Market Intelligence: Continuous tracking of modern market trends, fluctuating crop prices, and performance indicators to maintain competitive advantages.

• Impact Documentation: Writing case studies and success stories highlighting improved market access and superior price realization for rural communities.

Candidate Requirements & Qualifications

SFI is seeking a results-oriented professional with a strong entrepreneurial mindset and excellent stakeholder management abilities.

Educational Qualification

• MBA / PGDM in Agribusiness, Rural Management, or Supply Chain / Value Chain Linkages.

Experience Needed

• 4 to 6 years of verified experience in market linkage, agri-value chains, or enterprise promotion.

• Proven track record of working closely with agri-startups, crop aggregators, or corporate procurement companies.

• Strong familiarity with both conventional and digital agri-market frameworks.
