Nayi Disha is a non-profit organization that utilizes technology to act as a lifelong partner for families impacted by Autism and other developmental disabilities. Since its founding in 2015, the organization has become a reliable resource for families, reaching over 8,00,000 people across India. They have built a community of more than 68,000 families with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). Nayi Disha's platform is mobile-first and multilingual.
Nayi Disha is currently seeking passionate and committed individuals to join their team. The organization is known for its vibrant and enthusiastic team and supportive work culture. They are looking to fill several key positions:
Counselor - Parent Community Engagement This role focuses on building and nurturing Nayi Disha's virtual parent community, particularly through WhatsApp support groups and outreach programs. The counselor will provide emotional support, lead group counseling sessions, and encourage engagement among parents of children with IDD. Key responsibilities include moderating WhatsApp communities, conducting virtual and in-person support group meetings, and offering one-on-one support on topics like parenting, government schemes, and therapy. Candidates for this position should have a Master's degree in Psychology (with a preference for Clinical, Counseling, or Social Psychology) and 3-4 years of experience in counseling, community work, or working with families of individuals with disabilities. Fluency in Hindi and English is required, and knowledge of Marathi and Telugu is a plus.
Fundraise Manager The Fundraising Manager will be responsible for creating and implementing the organization's fundraising strategy. This involves securing funds from various sources, such as corporate sponsors, foundations, and individual donors. The manager will develop and implement a fundraising plan aligned with the organization's goals, set annual fundraising targets, and report progress to senior management. The role requires at least 5 years of experience in fundraising or development within an NGO or social sector organization. A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is required, with a Master's degree preferred. The ability to build relationships, analyze data, and manage events are among the desired skills. This position involves frequent travel.
Finance and Admin Executive This role supports the Finance and Operations team by managing daily financial tasks, documentation, and administrative duties. The executive's responsibilities include compiling invoices, processing reimbursement requests, preparing payment summaries for vendors, and maintaining the organization's filing system. A Bachelor's degree in Commerce (B.Com) and at least one year of experience are required. Prior experience in a non-profit organization is desirable but not mandatory. The position is located in Hyderabad and requires occasional travel.
Outreach Executive (Maharashtra) Nayi Disha is looking for a dedicated Social Worker for this role, which is ideal for someone wanting to advance their experience in the social sector, particularly with developmental disabilities. The Outreach Executive will provide counseling to parents, conduct outreach activities, and build partnerships with NGOs, schools, and community organizations. Key responsibilities include providing guidance on government schemes and resources, establishing relationships with community centers, and assisting with workshops and training programs. A Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field, along with 2+ years of experience, is required. Proficiency in Marathi is a must.
Special Educator / Early Interventionist for Parent Training (Hindi) As an expert parent trainer, this individual will use their knowledge of developmental disabilities to provide training to the parent community in Hindi. The primary goal is to support parents of children with developmental disabilities by helping them with acceptance, providing home-based interventions, and fostering strong parent communities. This position requires a Master's or Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a Master's in Rehabilitation Psychology. Candidates should have 4-5 years of experience working with children with Autism, Down syndrome, and other developmental disabilities in a school or therapy setting. Fluency in English and Hindi is mandatory, with Telugu and Marathi being advantageous. This role also requires frequent travel.
Senior Finance Lead The Senior Finance Lead will oversee all financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning. This role is crucial for ensuring compliance with financial regulations for NGOs in India, such as the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act (FCRA), grant management, and financial reporting. The lead will manage FCRA-related financial operations, ensure timely filing of returns, and liaise with auditors. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in financial management, with at least 5 years specifically in an NGO. A CA/ICWA/MBA in Finance or an equivalent degree is required. This is a remote/virtual position with travel as needed.
