CYDA Is Hiring a Placement Officer in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: Here's Everything You Need to Know

The Centre for Youth Development and Activities (CYDA) has opened applications for the role of Placement Officer, based in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Maharashtra. This is an excellent opportunity for professionals passionate about youth employment, skilling, and livelihoods to make a tangible, on-ground impact across seven project districts.

If you have a background in HR, staffing, employer liaison, or livelihood programs, and you're looking for a role that blends fieldwork with strategic impact, this opening deserves your attention.

About the Role

As a Placement Officer, you will sit at the intersection of skilled candidates and the employers who need them. The position is designed for someone who thrives on relationship-building, is comfortable with regular travel, and can balance grassroots coordination with structured reporting to senior leadership.

CYDA, known widely as "The Pulse of Young India," works to bridge the gap between trained youth and real employment opportunities — and this role is central to that mission.

Key Responsibilities

The Placement Officer will be expected to:

  • Build and expand an employer network across relevant industries, generating confirmed job openings for trained candidates in all seven districts.

  • Collaborate closely with District Coordinators and Field Executives to match placement-ready candidates with live job openings.

  • Track placement metrics — including conversions and drop-offs — against targets, and share this data with the MIS & Documentation Officer.

  • Coordinate post-placement follow-ups, conducting visits three months after placement in partnership with District Coordinators to ensure candidate retention and job satisfaction.

  • Support youth entrepreneurship, offering mentoring and market-linkage assistance to candidates interested in self-employment, working alongside local resource persons and agencies.

  • Represent the placement and employer-liaison function at quarterly Skill Building Network meetings.

  • Prepare monthly progress reports on placement and entrepreneurship outcomes for the Senior Program Manager.

  • Assist with donor and closure reporting, providing accurate placement data to support the Senior Program Manager and MIS Officer.

Who Should Apply: Education & Experience

CYDA is looking for candidates who bring both academic grounding and hands-on field experience:

  • A graduate in any discipline; a postgraduate qualification such as MSW or MBA (HR) is preferred.

  • 3–5 years of relevant experience in placement services, staffing, HR/employer liaison, or livelihood and skilling programs.

  • A demonstrated ability to build employer or industry relationships — or a clear aptitude for developing these quickly.

  • Willingness and ability to travel regularly across all seven project districts.

  • Fluency in Marathi and English is essential; knowledge of Hindi is an added advantage.

Why This Role Matters

Youth unemployment and skill mismatches remain significant challenges in India, particularly in semi-urban and rural districts. A Placement Officer role like this one isn't just an HR function — it's a bridge that turns training investments into real livelihoods. For someone motivated by social impact alongside professional growth, this position offers the chance to directly influence employment outcomes for hundreds of young job-seekers.
