The Akshaya Patra Foundation, one of the world's largest not-for-profit organizations implementing the government's Mid-Day Meal Programme, has announced an opening for Supervisor – Production at its Jamnagar, Gujarat location. The role suits people with up to three years of experience who want to work in large-scale food manufacturing with a social mission.

Akshaya Patra operates across more than 16 states and over 78 kitchens. Every day it serves over 2.25 million meals and 1 million morning snacks to school children. The Role
Akshaya Patra is looking for an experienced and dynamic Production Supervisor from the food industry to oversee daily manufacturing operations. The supervisor makes sure teams meet production targets while strictly following food safety, hygiene, and quality standards such as GMP and HACCP. The role bridges management and workers, focusing on productivity, staff training, process improvement, and a safe work environment.
Key Responsibilities
Production: Direct daily production activities, keeping to schedules and quality standards.
Food safety: Enforce food safety and sanitation practices and maintain regulatory compliance.
People: Train and mentor junior staff, and manage department labour and productivity, including scheduling and time-off requests.
Improvement: Find ways to improve efficiency and reduce waste in production processes and put solutions in place.
Process excellence: Ensure implementation of 5S, Kaizen, GMP, GHP, TPM, and similar practices.
Quality and records: Conduct regular quality checks and keep accurate production records.
Safety: Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and maintain a safe workplace.
Collaboration: Work with other departments to keep operations running smoothly.
What the Organization Is Looking For
Candidates should have 0–3 years of progressive production experience, preferably in manufacturing or industrial setups. The posting asks for:
