In an era where environmental resilience is more critical than ever, Wipro Foundation is expanding its CSR leadership team. The organization has announced an opening for a Program Manager – Ecology, based in Bengaluru, to spearhead impactful environmental initiatives across India.

If you are a seasoned professional with a passion for sustainability and a track record of managing large-scale environmental partnerships, this role offers a unique platform to drive systemic change.

The Role: Shaping the Future of Ecological CSR

As the Program Manager for Ecology, the successful candidate will be responsible for designing, managing, and monitoring the Foundation’s diverse ecology partnerships. This is a full-time, in-office contract position initially set for 12 months.

The scope of work is broad and deeply impactful, covering key environmental pillars such as:

  • Integrated Urban Water Management (IUWM)

  • Climate Adaptation

  • Solid Waste Management

  • Biodiversity Conservation

Key Responsibilities

The Program Manager will act as a bridge between strategic vision and field-level execution. Core duties include:

  • NGO Partnership Management: Identifying credible partners through rigorous due diligence and managing multi-year collaborations that deliver measurable community and ecological outcomes.

  • Program Oversight: Ensuring that a portfolio of ecology programs is executed on time, within budget, and aligned with desired outcomes.

  • Data & Insights: Compiling program data for management reviews, annual reports, and ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) requirements.

  • Field Engagement: Traveling for field assessments to monitor progress and strengthen community ties.

  • Strategic Contribution: Supporting communications through storytelling and contributing to cross-program initiatives as assigned by leadership.

Educational & Professional Requirements:

  • Education: A Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Ecology, Sustainability, or a related field.

  • Experience: A minimum of 8 years of hands-on experience, specifically within a CSR setting. Preference is given to those who have managed ecology-related partnerships and overseen environmental project implementation.

  • Technical Knowledge: Proficiency in net-zero pathways, carbon accounting, carbon sequestration, and climate policy is highly valued.

  • Core Competencies: Strong expertise in budgeting, compliance, and high-quality reporting.

Desired Personal Qualities: The ideal candidate is a systems thinker who is comfortable with ambiguity and proactive in setting strategic direction. Excellent communication skills are essential for negotiating with NGOs, government agencies, and internal legal or finance teams.
