Jivika Foundation Is Hiring Program Officers and Junior Program Officers for Its Health Programmes
Field-based roles across Maharashtra, Gujarat and other states, supporting the Cervical Cancer Mukt Bharat HPV vaccination initiative
Jivika Foundation, a not-for-profit working on public health, has announced openings for Program Officers and Junior Program Officers. The roles are full-time and field-based, and the work centres on delivering multi-state health programmes, including the organisation's flagship Cervical Cancer Mukt Bharat initiative.
About Jivika Foundation
Jivika Foundation improves public health through scalable, community-based initiatives in disease prevention, health awareness and vaccination access. It works closely with government bodies, corporates and civil society organisations.
Its flagship initiative, Cervical Cancer Mukt Bharat, aims to make India free from cervical cancer through large-scale HPV vaccination and awareness campaigns for adolescent girls and women. The new hires will help deliver this work on the ground.
The Opportunity
Jivika is looking for self-driven, flexible professionals who are comfortable travelling, working in dynamic field conditions and taking ownership of on-ground results. Positions are available in Pune, Mumbai, Silvasa, Daman, Gujarat and other states. Fluency in Hindi, Marathi and/or Gujarati is preferred.
What the Role Involves
Selected candidates will be responsible for:
Driving field-level deliverables such as camps, school and community outreach, and vaccination drives, in line with agreed timelines and targets
Planning and executing programme activities across districts in Maharashtra, Gujarat and other states
Coordinating with State Governments, Municipal Corporations, Zilla Parishads, schools, health facilities, CSR teams and corporate partners
Supporting and guiding field teams on programme quality, efficiency and compliance
Planning and conducting training and capacity-building sessions for field staff, teachers, health workers and community stakeholders
Tracking progress through regular monitoring and data collection, and ensuring data accuracy and timely MIS updates
Preparing progress reports, case studies, presentations and donor updates
Ensuring compliance with donor and organisational requirements
Representing Jivika in meetings and partner forums (at Program Officer level)
Travelling frequently for monitoring, training and stakeholder engagement
Program Officer vs Junior Program Officer
Both roles involve the same field-delivery work. They differ in experience and in how independently the person leads.
Program Officer candidates should hold a Master's in Public Health, Social Work (MSW) or a related field, with 4–5+ years of experience managing public health or social development programmes. They need proven experience coordinating with government agencies, local bodies and CSR partners. They lead and coordinate multi-location teams and represent Jivika in meetings and partner forums.
Junior Program Officer candidates need the same educational background, with 2–3 years in programme implementation or field operations. They work with government and CSR stakeholders under senior guidance and execute field activities independently, with support from senior staff. External representation is limited.
Requirements for Both Positions
Experience in health and training is preferred
Working knowledge of monitoring and evaluation (M&E), programme metrics and basic data analysis
Strong report writing, documentation and communication skills, with Hindi, Marathi and/or Gujarati preferred
Willingness to travel extensively and work flexible hours, including weekends, as programme needs require
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in field environments
How to Apply
Interested candidates should email their CV to Hiring_program@jivika.org with the subject line "Application for Jr. PO/ PO". Applicants should state clearly in the email which position they are applying for.
Why This Matters
Cervical cancer is largely preventable through HPV vaccination and early awareness, so field delivery is where the programme's impact is decided. These roles offer a chance to work at scale with government and corporate partners on a public health goal, for professionals who are comfortable with travel and field work.
