Connecting Communities with Credit
The position centres on helping communities in Mizoram reach essential credit and loan opportunities. The Project Associate will work to close that gap.
What the Role Involves
The Project Associate will work directly with community members and local institutions. The key responsibilities include:
Direct support to beneficiaries: helping community members access and apply for credit schemes offered through banks and government programmes.
Outreach and financial literacy: organising and conducting outreach activities, financial literacy sessions, and credit awareness drives in rural and semi-urban areas.
Awareness events: planning and executing events that promote government credit schemes.
Records and reporting: maintaining accurate beneficiary records, preparing reports, and tracking progress on credit linkages and outreach efforts.
Training and field work: assisting in planning and running training workshops, field visits, and review meetings in coordination with the central team.
Stakeholder coordination: working with local stakeholders, including VDOs, BDOs, and community leaders.
The role combines fieldwork with documentation, so it suits someone who is comfortable both talking with communities and keeping careful records.
Who Can Apply
LLF is looking for candidates with the following profile:
Experience: 1–2 years in banking or microfinance
Skills: strong communication in English and the local language, problem-solving ability, and coordination skills
Sector knowledge: an understanding of the BFSI (Banking, Financial Services and Insurance) sector
Fluency in the local language matters here, since the work depends on building trust and explaining financial products clearly to community members.
