Project Coordinator Job in Narela, Delhi: Child Survival India Hiring for Project Shakti (Gender-Based Violence Prevention Programme)

Location: Narela, Delhi | Salary: Rs. 30,000/month (consolidated) | Last Date to Apply: 26th September 2026

If you're an experienced development-sector professional looking for a meaningful role in community mobilisation and gender-based violence (GBV) prevention, Child Survival India (CSI) has an open position for a Project Coordinator to lead its flagship initiative, Project Shakti, in Narela, Delhi.

About Child Survival India

Founded in April 1991 and headquartered in New Delhi, Child Survival India (CSI) is a nonprofit organisation with a three-decade legacy of supporting underprivileged women and children across rural and urban communities. What began as a child-focused mission has since grown into a broader commitment to community empowerment. CSI operates on the belief that people already possess the capacity to drive positive change in their own lives — the organisation's role is to act as a catalyst, equipping communities with the tools, confidence, and support systems they need to build self-sufficiency and resilience.

About Project Shakti

Project Shakti is CSI's community-centred response to gender-based violence among women and adolescent girls in Narela, Delhi. The programme takes a multi-pronged approach, working directly with:

  • Community stakeholders to build local awareness and support

  • Mahila Panchayats, strengthening these grassroots protective structures

  • Para legal workers, whose capacity is built to ensure survivors and at-risk women and girls get timely access to information, protection, and support mechanisms

The goal is a stronger, more coordinated community response to GBV — one rooted in local ownership rather than external intervention alone.

Role Overview: Project Coordinator

The Project Coordinator will be the operational lead for Project Shakti in Narela, reporting directly to the Program Manager. This is a full-time position requiring close, on-ground coordination with para legal workers, Mahila Panchayat members, and local duty-bearers to strengthen the community's ability to prevent and respond to gender-based violence.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

  • Oversee the implementation of all project activities — mohalla meetings, panchayat meetings, adolescent girls' sessions, community events, and trainings — with support from para legal workers

  • Build relationships and sustained engagement with opinion leaders, panchayat members, public health functionaries, police, protection officers, and lawyers to strengthen support for the project and resolve implementation challenges

  • Ensure the Mahila Panchayat functions regularly and effectively

  • Plan and conduct trainings and community events alongside para legal workers and Mahila Panchayat members

  • Maintain complete, accurate case records and oversee documentation standards among para legal workers

  • Compile and share timely reports on trainings, meetings, events, and other activities with the Program Manager

  • Provide day-to-day mentoring and field support to para legal workers

  • Support the Program Manager in tracking project progress against work plans and targets

  • Represent the project at community, government, and inter-agency forums as needed

Qualifications & Experience

  • Graduate or postgraduate degree in Social Work, Development Studies, Sociology, or a related field (preferred)

  • 2–3 years of relevant experience in community mobilisation, gender-based violence programming, or protection-related work

  • Prior experience working with Panchayats, community-based structures, or para legal networks is an added advantage

  • Sound understanding of legal and protection frameworks relevant to women and child safety in India

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong interpersonal and community engagement abilities

  • Comfort coordinating across diverse stakeholders — government officials, police, and legal professionals

  • Solid planning, organisational, and documentation skills

  • Sensitivity to gender issues and a genuine commitment to survivor-centred approaches

  • Proficiency in Hindi (spoken and written); working knowledge of English preferred

  • Willingness to travel extensively within Narela and surrounding field areas
