The Role: Project Coordinator/Center Manager

As the Project Coordinator/Center Manager, you will be the driving force ensuring the smooth and effective operation of our rehabilitation center. Your leadership will guarantee the delivery of high-quality care, efficient program execution, and strict adherence to all regulatory standards. This diverse role demands a combination of administrative expertise, empathetic leadership, and an unwavering commitment to our residents' well-being.

Key Responsibilities You'll Oversee:

  • Centre Administration & Operations: You'll manage the daily operational excellence of the center, from facilities and logistics to maintaining a safe and clean environment. Thorough record-keeping for admissions, case files, and inventory will be essential.

  • Program Implementation: You'll be instrumental in developing and implementing personalized rehabilitation plans, coordinating a wide range of activities like vocational training, life skills education, counseling, and health check-ups. A key focus will be monitoring resident progress and facilitating their reintegration into society.

  • Team Management: You'll lead, supervise, and mentor a committed multidisciplinary team, including social workers, counselors, and caregivers. You'll foster a collaborative atmosphere, delegate duties, and ensure staff accountability and ongoing professional development.

  • Monitoring, Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate data, daily logs, and incident reports. Prepare detailed monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for internal stakeholders and external agencies, ensuring transparency and compliance.

  • Compliance & Legal Adherence: Ensure the center operates in strict accordance with relevant laws and regulations, including the JJ Act, Mental Health Act, and PWD Act. You will also serve as the primary point of contact with local authorities and welfare committees.

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Forge strategic alliances with NGOs, hospitals, vocational institutes, and government departments to enhance referral networks and foster collaborative programs. You will also represent People's Forum at various external meetings and workshops.

Who We're Seeking:

We are looking for a postgraduate (MA/MSW) in Sociology, Social Work, Psychology, Rural Development, or Developmental Studies, with a minimum of 3-5 years (or more) of direct experience managing rehabilitation residential projects.

Essential Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong Leadership & Decision-Making: The ability to guide a team and make informed choices in a dynamic environment.

  • Effective Communication & Interpersonal Skills: Crucial for interacting with residents, staff, stakeholders, and external bodies.

  • Experience with Vulnerable Populations: Demonstrated empathy and understanding in working with children, persons with disabilities, individuals with mental health challenges, and those with substance dependence.

  • Knowledge of Rehabilitation Practices: A solid grasp of case management, psycho-social support, and rehabilitation methodologies.

  • Proficiency in Documentation & MS Office: Meticulous record-keeping and data reporting skills are essential.

  • Crisis Management & Emotional Resilience: Ability to handle challenging situations with composure and maintain a supportive environment.

Preferred Attributes:

  • Previous experience as a Centre In-charge or Project Head.

  • Familiarity with government welfare schemes.

  • Fluency in English and local/regional language(s) of Odisha.
