About the Role
The Project Manager will play a pivotal role in driving SAAHAS's solid waste management programme forward — coordinating with government bodies, managing teams, overseeing budgets, and ensuring the smooth execution of on-ground initiatives. This is a leadership position suited for someone who thrives on stakeholder engagement, data-driven decision-making, and cross-functional team management.
Key Responsibilities
1. Government & Stakeholder Coordination
The selected candidate will liaise closely with district and taluk-level administration, elected representatives, NGOs, community-based organisations (CBOs), and citizen initiatives to ensure effective implementation of the SWM programme.
2. Programme Planning, Monitoring & Reporting
A core part of the role involves collecting and analysing SWM data, conducting baseline surveys, developing monitoring frameworks, tracking programme progress, and preparing detailed reports and insights to support decision-making.
3. Capacity Building & Team Management
The Project Manager will organise training sessions and review meetings, guide and monitor Project Coordinators, provide constructive feedback, and support recruitment and staff development efforts.
4. Financial & Programme Management
Responsibilities also include monitoring budgets, expenditures, and cash flows, maintaining financial discipline, coordinating day-to-day programme activities, and resolving implementation challenges to keep project objectives on track.
