The Role: Project Officer – Agriculture & Rural Development
As a Project Officer, you will be at the forefront of implementing crucial agricultural and rural development programs. This role offers an exciting blend of field-based work, stakeholder coordination, and capacity building.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Field Implementation & Coordination: You'll mobilize and engage sugarcane farmers, facilitate village-level meetings, organize trainings, and supervise activities like composting and bio-decomposer usage. Your efforts will directly support the adoption of practices that improve soil organic matter.
Monitoring, Documentation & Reporting: You will conduct essential soil health surveys, maintain meticulous farmer records, collect field data, and prepare comprehensive progress reports, including photographs and case studies.
Stakeholder & Team Engagement: This role involves coordinating with lead farmers, active farmers, and PRI members, as well as liaising with government agriculture departments, CSR teams, and technical experts. You will also guide and mentor field staff.
Awareness & Training: You'll organize impactful training sessions, local exposure visits, and Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) activities, developing and distributing farmer-friendly learning materials in Hindi.
Who We're Looking For:
Experience: 2 to 4 years of hands-on experience in agriculture or rural development work.
Qualification: A Graduate or Postgraduate degree in Agriculture, Rural Development, Environmental Science, or a related field.
Skills:
Strong understanding of sustainable farming, composting, and soil health improvement techniques.
Excellent communication skills in Hindi, with basic English and reporting ability preferred.
Proficiency in MS Office and data collection tools.
Willingness to travel extensively within rural areas.
A genuine passion for working with rural communities and farmers.
A problem-solving and self-motivated attitude.
A collaborative team player with empathy and a strong grassroots connection.
Remuneration & Application Details:
Salary: INR 28,000 - INR 30,000 PM, with travel expenses covered as per project norms.
Location: Hariyawan Block, Hardoi, Uttar Pradesh.
