About the Role
The Project Officer will support ReefWatch's marine megafauna conservation efforts, from data work in the office to fieldwork on the beach and animal care at the base. The role covers several areas.
Stranding data management. You will record, analyse, and update all stranding data. Accurate records of stranded marine animals are the foundation of conservation research, helping the team understand what is happening along the coast.
Animal care. You will assist the in-house veterinarians in treating and caring for marine animals at the base.
Nest-monitoring and the nesting programme. You will oversee all nest-monitoring activities, supervise seasonal volunteers, and ensure the nesting programme is well managed.
Reporting and documentation. You will assist the Project Co-ordinator with report writing and documentation, keeping the project's work well recorded and communicated.
Outreach and social media. You will create social media content and help run outreach workshops and programmes. The poster shows children from the local community taking part in a beach activity, a reminder that conservation depends on people as much as on science.
Who Should Apply
