About the Organizers: Aajeevika Bureau and India Labour Line

Aajeevika Bureau is a distinguished public service organization committed to the wellbeing and protection of migrant workers within India's vast informal economy. For years, it has provided critical services including legal aid, skills training, financial inclusion, and social security to workers who are often left on the margins.

Born from this extensive experience and in response to the pressing needs highlighted during the COVID-19 pandemic, the India Labour Line (ILL) was established. ILL is a national helpline and alternate dispute resolution system that offers free mediation and legal support to workers facing wage theft, abuse, and other forms of exploitation. It aims to bridge the significant gap in access to justice for the nation's most vulnerable labourers.

The Role: What You'll Do

The Regional Coordinator (North) will be at the forefront of this mission, steering ILL's operations across the region. This is a dynamic role that combines team leadership, strategic planning, and hands-on advocacy.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Operational Leadership: Spearheading and managing all of India Labour Line's activities across North India.

  • Team Mentorship: Guiding and mentoring field teams to ensure high-quality case resolution and adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs).

  • Data Management: Overseeing MIS tracking and ensuring robust data oversight to inform strategy and measure impact.

  • Partnership Building: Cultivating strong relationships with Civil Society Organisations (CSOs), labour organisers, and legal aid networks to create a strong ecosystem of support.

  • Advocacy and Representation: Acting as a representative for ILL in key policy discussions, forums, and public platforms to influence systemic change.

  • National Expansion: Contributing actively to the strategic growth and national expansion of the India Labour Line network.

Who We're Looking For: The Ideal Candidate

This position is designed for a professional with a profound commitment to social justice and the rights of workers. The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Experience: 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in the fields of development, labour rights, legal aid, or migration work.

  • Educational Background: A Postgraduate degree in law, labour studies, social work, or a related field. Candidates with a Graduate degree coupled with strong, relevant experience will also be considered.

  • Leadership Skills: Proven prior experience in successfully managing large and geographically dispersed teams.

  • Core Competencies: Exceptional administrative, communication, reporting, and data handling skills are essential for this role.

Salary and How to Apply

The position offers a competitive salary in the range of ₹ 9 to 10.5 Lakhs Per Annum (LPA). A higher salary may be considered for candidates with exceptional experience and qualifications.
