Aakhyaan Foundation, a Section 8 non-profit working to build inclusive, equitable and empowered communities, has announced an opening for a Resource Person to provide legal support on women's related laws in Jaipur, Rajasthan.
The Foundation works across a wide range of thematic areas including women's empowerment, gender equality, youth and elderly development, education, social protection, health, financial literacy and community development. Its approach is rooted in people-centered, community-driven engagement, working alongside communities, government institutions, police, development partners and civil society organizations to strengthen access to rights, opportunities and social protection.
About the Role
The new position calls for a Resource Person with legal expertise to deliver technical support for community awareness efforts centered on Gender-Based Violence (GBV), violence against women and girls, women's rights, legal protections, and available support and referral mechanisms. The engagement is session-based, aimed at professionals with 3 to 5 years of relevant experience, with honorarium determined according to experience and the organization's norms.
The Resource Person will be tasked with facilitating simple, accessible and participatory legal awareness sessions for women and adolescent girls, while also supporting the Foundation's broader community-level referral and awareness initiatives. Sensitivity, confidentiality and a survivor-centered approach are described as core to how the role must be carried out.
Key Responsibilities
According to the organization, the role will involve:
Conducting awareness and orientation sessions on Gender-Based Violence and violence against women and girls
Explaining relevant legal rights, protections, procedures and available remedies in simple, accessible language
Guiding participants through their options for seeking support and filing appropriate complaints or referrals
Supporting women, adolescent girls and community members in understanding where and how to seek assistance when facing violence or discrimination
