Rubal Foundation Is Hiring in Pune: Join the Migrant & Workers Facilitation Centre
Rubal Foundation is looking for passionate people to join its team in Pune. Two roles are open at the Migrant & Workers Facilitation Centre: Project (Centre) Coordinator and Field Outreach Coordinator. Both are for people who want to work directly with migrant and informal-sector workers, helping them reach the rights, services and support they are entitled to.
Role 1: Project (Centre) Coordinator
The Project Coordinator leads the Migrant & Workers Facilitation Centre and oversees its daily operations.
Key responsibilities
Lead and manage the Centre's day-to-day operations
Develop activity plans, set targets and monitor Centre performance
Facilitate workers' access to government schemes, entitlements, social protection and public services
Manage worker cases, grievances and referrals while maintaining confidentiality
Supervise and guide Field Coordinators in community mobilisation and outreach
Conduct awareness programmes, meetings and information sessions for workers and their families
Build and maintain linkages with government departments, NGOs, service providers and other stakeholders
Facilitate referrals on labour rights, legal aid, healthcare, livelihoods, skills and social protection
Maintain Centre records, databases, case documentation and periodic reports
Represent the organisation in stakeholder meetings and local networks
Monitor Centre activities to ensure effective implementation without duplicating existing services
Qualifications, skills and experience
Master's degree in Social Work, Labour Studies, Development Studies, Management, Social Sciences or any relevant field
3–5 years of relevant experience in programme coordination, centre management, field-team supervision or community-based work
Experience with migrant and/or informal-sector workers, especially in urban communities, is preferred
Good documentation, reporting and digital skills
Working knowledge of English is desirable
Willingness to travel within Pune and surrounding areas and work directly with communities
Role 2: Field Outreach Coordinator
The Field Outreach Coordinator is the Centre's link to the community. They reach workers where they live and work, understand their concerns and connect them to services.
Key responsibilities
Conduct regular community outreach and mobilisation among migrant and informal-sector workers
Identify workers' needs, concerns and service gaps, and refer them to the Workers Facilitation Centre
Inform workers about government schemes, social protection, entitlements and available services
Support workers in accessing services and follow up on referrals and cases
Conduct community meetings, awareness sessions and information campaigns
Build rapport with workers, community leaders and local stakeholders
Help the Centre identify and document grievances and cases that need intervention
Maintain accurate records of field visits, worker interactions, referrals and follow-up
Coordinate regularly with the Centre Coordinator and report field-level developments and emerging issues
Education and experience
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Social Work, Sociology, Development Studies, Labour Studies or a relevant Social Science discipline
1–3 years of experience in community outreach, mobilisation, fieldwork or development programmes
Experience with migrant workers, informal-sector workers or vulnerable communities is an advantage
Good understanding of government schemes, social protection and public services is desirable
Strong communication, interpersonal and community mobilisation skills
Good documentation and basic digital skills
Fluency in Marathi and Hindi is essential; working knowledge of English is desirable
Willingness to undertake extensive field visits within Pune and work directly with communities
Why These Roles Matter
Migrant and informal-sector workers often struggle to access government schemes, legal aid, healthcare and social protection. The Facilitation Centre addresses this through case support, referrals, awareness sessions and partnerships with government departments, NGOs and service providers. Together, the two roles cover both ends of that work: the Coordinator runs the Centre and its partnerships, and the Field Outreach Coordinator brings workers in and follows up on their cases.
