As our Senior Accountant, you'll be the backbone of our financial integrity. Your work will ensure that every rupee is accounted for and that our resources are used effectively to uplift vulnerable populations. You'll be responsible for a wide range of critical tasks, from managing day-to-day accounting to preparing essential financial reports for our donors and leadership. Your expertise in Tally ERP, statutory compliance (including GST, TDS, PF, and ESI), and donor-funded project accounting will be crucial in this role. We need someone who can not only manage the numbers but also lead a small team and maintain the highest standards of financial control.

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Accounting & Bookkeeping: Oversee all daily accounting activities, including journal entries and bank reconciliations, while ensuring accurate data entry into Tally ERP. You will also supervise and mentor junior accounting staff.

  • Grant & Financial Reporting: Prepare comprehensive financial statements and fund utilization reports. Your role will involve tracking project-wise fund allocation and reporting directly to donors and senior management, maintaining transparency and trust.

  • Statutory Compliance: Take charge of timely and accurate filing of all statutory returns, including TDS, GST, PF, and ESI. You'll also support FCRA-related documentation when necessary.

  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of project and annual budgets, monitor expenditures, and provide essential budget inputs for new proposals.

  • Audit Preparation: Lead the preparation for internal, statutory, and donor audits, acting as the primary liaison with auditors to resolve any queries and implement their recommendations.

  • Internal Controls: Strengthen and enforce internal financial policies and maintain secure, well-organized financial records to ensure accountability.

Who We're Looking For

The ideal candidate will have 4-6 years of experience in an accounting role, with a strong preference for a background in the non-profit sector. You should hold a B.Com, M.Com, or MBA in Finance.

Essential Skills and Attributes:

  • Technical Expertise: Strong command of Tally ERP and proficiency in MS Excel are non-negotiable.

  • Detail-Oriented: You must have a keen eye for detail and a commitment to accuracy in all financial matters.
