PLAN Foundation Hiring Senior Officer – Project for CSR Waste Management Initiative in Sanand, Ahmedabad
PLAN Foundation Opens Applications for Senior Officer – Project Role in Gujarat's Growing Waste Management Sector
PLAN Foundation (Participatory Learning & Action Network) has announced an opening for a Senior Officer – Project, based in Sanand, Ahmedabad, Gujarat. The role is a full-time position offering a monthly CTC of ₹55,000–60,000, aimed at professionals with strong field development experience who want to lead impactful, community-driven sustainability work.
About the Role
The Senior Officer – Project will spearhead a CSR-funded Solid Waste Management (SWM) and Community-Based Waste Solutions initiative spanning 6 to 10 villages in the Sanand region. This role sits at the intersection of grassroots development and environmental sustainability, making it an excellent opportunity for professionals passionate about rural development, circular economy practices, and community mobilization.
Key Responsibilities
As the primary driver of on-ground execution, the selected candidate will be responsible for:
Leading village-level project implementation across the target villages, ensuring timelines and deliverables are met
Building and maintaining relationships with Gram Panchayats, government departments, local communities, and implementation partners
Overseeing the full waste management cycle — from segregation at source to collection and processing linkages
Tracking field activities, KPIs, budgets, and MIS reporting to ensure data-driven decision-making and donor accountability
Coordinating field teams and building systems that support the long-term sustainability of the project beyond the funding cycle
This blend of operational leadership, stakeholder management, and monitoring responsibility makes the position ideal for someone who thrives in dynamic, field-based environments.
Who Should Apply
PLAN Foundation is looking for candidates who bring both academic grounding and hands-on field experience:
A Master's degree in Social Work, Rural Development, Environmental Management, Public Administration, or a related discipline
5–6 years of relevant experience in field development, Solid Waste Management, or CSR-funded projects
Prior exposure to government liaison work and rural or community development initiatives is preferred
Multilingual proficiency in Gujarati, Hindi, and English is essential, given the nature of stakeholder engagement involved
Why This Role Matters
India's push toward sustainable waste management has accelerated CSR investment in community-based solid waste solutions, particularly in semi-urban and rural clusters like Sanand. This role offers professionals a chance to directly shape how villages transition to structured waste segregation and processing systems, while working closely with Gram Panchayats and CSR partners — experience that is increasingly valuable across the development and sustainability sector.
How to Apply
Interested candidates can send their updated CV to tasneem.khot@planfoundation.in.
For candidates with a background in MIS, field coordination, budget monitoring, or CSR project management, this role offers a strong platform to lead measurable, community-level environmental impact.
