What You'll Be Doing: A Glimpse into the Role

This isn't just a content creation gig; it's an opportunity to drive engagement and innovation. Your responsibilities will include:

• Transforming Web Videos: You'll take web videos and adapt them specifically for Tamil audiences, handling everything from initial research and scriptwriting to storytelling and final editing.

• Pioneering New Formats: Be a key player in developing and launching fresh, engaging content formats tailored for DW's primary social media platforms, including Facebook, YouTube, and Instagram.

• Leveraging Data & Trends: Apply your in-depth understanding of regional social media trends, analytics, community management, and platform algorithms to optimize content performance.

• Producing Diverse Content: Create high-quality audio-visual content, compelling images, and engaging text pieces for publication across all social media channels.

• Optimizing for Discovery: Actively contribute to designing impactful thumbnails, writing SEO-friendly descriptions, developing strategic hashtags, and creating web videos optimized for maximum visibility on Facebook, YouTube, and Instagram.

• Trend Spotting & Analysis: Continuously monitor social media landscapes to identify emerging trends and utilize various social media tools and analytics to inform your content strategy.

Who DW is Looking For: Your Profile

DW is seeking a highly motivated, creative, and detail-oriented individual with:

• A Solid Foundation: Completed university studies in a relevant field or an equivalent journalistic qualification.

• Hands-On Experience: Professional journalistic experience in both social media and web video production.

• Editing Expertise: Confident mastery of Adobe Premiere is a must, and proficiency in Adobe Photoshop is a significant advantage.

• Creative Flair: A high degree of flexibility and creativity to adapt to evolving digital landscapes.

• Language Proficiency: Excellent command of the Tamil language is essential. You'll also need a good working knowledge of English and/or German to access journalistic sources in both languages. Knowledge of Hindi or another Indian language would be a plus.

• Organizational Prowess: Superb planning and organizational skills, coupled with a proactive and pragmatic approach, are crucial for meeting deadlines.

• Flexible Availability: You'll need to be willing to work on weekends.
