The organization is currently inviting applications for two critical positions based in Patna, Bihar: Solid Waste Management (SWM) Expert and Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) Expert.
Both roles are full-time, contractual positions requiring candidates who are available to join immediately. If you want to be at the forefront of building cleaner, smarter cities, here is everything you need to know about these roles.
1. Solid Waste Management (SWM) Expert
The SWM Expert will be pivotal in managing technical and operational frameworks, ensuring seamless data management, and integrating innovative technologies into city-wide waste processes.
Educational Qualification: Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Environmental Management, Public Health, Urban Planning, or a related field.
Experience Required: Minimum of 3 years in SBM, Waste Management, or a closely simulated field.
Core Responsibilities: * Managing MIS portals and dashboards (SSMIS) for Swachh Survekshan (SS2025).
Guiding Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) in integrating ICT and GIS/Map-based tools for tracking daily sanitation operations.
Designing customized plans for door-to-door waste collection, segregation, and processing.
Conducting Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) assessments and monitoring indicator mapping.
Guiding Resident Welfare Associations (RWAs) and Bulk Waste Generators (BWGs) on decentralized processing units.
Key Skills: Strong data visualization capabilities (MS Excel), familiarity with geo-tagging, and deep knowledge of GFC and ODF protocols.
2. IEC Expert
The IEC Expert will lead the charge on behavior change, community mobilization, and public relations to drive citizen engagement and widespread awareness.
Educational Qualification: Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Mass Communication, Journalism, Social Work, Sociology, Public Relations, or equivalent.
Experience Required: Minimum of 1 year in a similar field (prior work in sanitation or public health projects is highly desirable).
Core Responsibilities:
Designing and executing city-level IEC campaigns aligned with Swachh Survekshan timelines.
Organizing community events, ward-level awareness programs, Nukkad Nataks, and school rallies.
Developing localized content, social media creatives, brochures, and promotional jingles.
Managing digital outreach and promoting tools like the Swachhata App and SBM-U Feedback platform.
Maintaining systematic documentation, including geo-tagged photos and best practice success stories for national submissions.
Key Skills: Mastery of English and regional languages, proficiency with design tools (like Canva or Photoshop), and excellent stakeholder coordination skills.
General Requirements & Remuneration
For both positions, proficiency in Hindi and English is mandatory. Remuneration for both roles will be provided as per industry standards.
