Are you a dedicated livestock professional with a passion for fostering sustainable development in rural India? Samvedna Development Society, an innovative non-governmental organization, is actively seeking a State Technical Manager (Poultry/Goatery/Dairy) to spearhead critical livelihood initiatives across Madhya Pradesh. Driving Impact in Livestock Development

This position is integral to establishing State Project Management Units (PMUs) aimed at bolstering the State Rural Livelihood Mission (SRLM) in Madhya Pradesh. As State Technical Manager, you'll take the lead in implementing and overseeing Poultry, Dairy, and Goatery Value Chain initiatives, ensuring their sustained growth and positive influence throughout project regions.

Your Contribution: Key Responsibilities

Your expertise will be crucial in optimizing the entire value chain, from initial production to market connections, for these vital livestock sectors. This includes:

  • Project Leadership: Guiding the successful execution of poultry, dairy, and goatery value chain projects.

  • Value Chain Enhancement: Overseeing and improving efficiency and profitability across all operational stages.

  • Collaborative Partnerships: Engaging closely with farmers, Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs), Self-Help Groups (SHGs), processors, and other key stakeholders to boost productivity and income generation.

  • Capacity Building: Designing and delivering effective training programs for smallholder farmers on livestock management, disease prevention, and value addition techniques.

  • Market & Quality Assurance: Developing and implementing strategies to enhance market access, ensure stringent quality control, and uphold food safety standards.

  • Community Engagement: Partnering with local communities and SHGs to identify and address challenges while leveraging opportunities within the livestock sector.

  • Reporting Excellence: Ensuring meticulous documentation and reporting of all project activities, including performance indicators and financial tracking.

  • Technical Expertise: Providing expert guidance on best practices in animal health, feed management, breeding programs, milk production, and strengthening forward and backward linkages.

  • Innovation Advocacy: Championing the adoption of cutting-edge technologies and innovative practices to improve efficiency and scalability within the livestock sector.

  • Strategic Alliances: Forging robust partnerships with relevant government bodies, private sector entities, and non-governmental organizations to cultivate a resilient value chain ecosystem.

Ideal Candidate Profile: Qualifications & Skills

To excel in this challenging yet profoundly rewarding role, you should possess:

  • Educational Background: A Bachelor of Veterinary Science & Animal Husbandry (BVSc is mandatory), supplemented by a Master's degree in Veterinary Science, Rural Management, or an MBA.

  • Professional Experience: A solid 7-15 years of experience in Poultry, Dairy, and Goatery Value Chain Management or a related field.

  • Sectoral Knowledge: An in-depth understanding of the livestock sector, encompassing market dynamics, production methods, and value chain optimization.

  • Training Acumen: Demonstrated experience in training and empowering smallholder farmers.

  • Leadership & Problem-Solving: Strong leadership capabilities, keen problem-solving skills, and decisive decision-making.

  • Stakeholder Management: Proven experience in managing relationships with diverse stakeholders, including FPOs, government agencies, and market partners.

  • Travel Readiness: The ability to undertake extensive travel across project areas within Madhya Pradesh.

Compensation and Application Details

This full-time position offers an attractive annual salary package ranging from INR 15 - 20 LPA.
