The Opportunity: Leading Goatery Value Chain Development in Maharashtra

As the State Technical Manager (Goatery), you will play a pivotal role in optimizing and expanding the entire goatery value chain within Maharashtra. Your responsibilities will include:

• Strategic Leadership: Spearheading the implementation of Goatery Value Chain initiatives, ensuring their sustainable expansion and significant impact across all project areas.

• Operational Excellence: Overseeing and refining every aspect of the goatery value chain, from efficient production to effective market linkages, to maximize both efficiency and profitability.

• Partnership Building: Cultivating strong collaborations with farmers, Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs), Self-Help Groups (SHGs), processors, and other key stakeholders to boost productivity and generate income.

• Capacity Building: Designing and delivering comprehensive training programs for smallholder farmers and stakeholders, enhancing their knowledge in goatery management, disease prevention, and value addition techniques.

• Market Enhancement: Developing and executing strategies to improve market access for goatery products, ensuring rigorous quality control, and upholding crucial food safety standards.

• Community Engagement: Working closely with local communities and partners to identify specific challenges and unlock significant opportunities within Maharashtra's vibrant goatery sector.

• Monitoring & Reporting: Maintaining accurate documentation and reporting of all project activities, meticulously tracking performance metrics, financial progress, and overall achievements.

• Technical Advisory: Providing expert technical guidance on best practices, with a focus on improving goatery health, optimizing feed management, refining breeding programs, and strengthening both forward and backward linkages for comprehensive goatery interventions and robust market connections.

• Innovation Promotion: Championing the adoption of innovative technologies and practices within the goatery sector to significantly enhance efficiency and scalability.

Candidate Profile: Qualifications & Essential Skills

To thrive in this critical role, you'll need a unique blend of academic qualifications and practical expertise:

Qualifications:

• Undergraduate: BVSC in Any Specialization

• Postgraduate: MVSC in Any Specialization, or MBA/PGDM in Any Specialization

Skills & Experience:

• A minimum of 5-10 years of experience in Goatery Value Chain Management or a related field.

• An in-depth understanding of the goatery sector, including market dynamics, production practices, and value chain optimization.

• Proficiency in Marathi and other regional languages is essential for effective communication and engagement across Maharashtra.

• Demonstrated experience in training and capacity building for smallholder farmers.

• Exceptional leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.

• Proven expertise in stakeholder management, including successful engagement with FPOs, government bodies, and market partners.

• The ability to travel extensively across project areas within Maharashtra is required.
