Waatavaran Foundation, in collaboration with prestigious partners like the Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) Mumbai, Asar, and the Policy & Development Advisory Group (PDAG), is looking for a dedicated Program Coordinator to lead a transformative climate initiative.
This is a unique opportunity to spearhead a gender-inclusive, community-centered climate action plan in Raigad, Maharashtra. If you have a background in social sciences or environmental studies and a drive for sustainable development, this three-year engagement could be your next big career move.
The Role: Program Coordinator
As the Program Coordinator, you will be at the heart of a multi-stakeholder project designed to build resilience and sustainable frameworks. The role is based in Mumbai, with frequent field visits to Raigad, ensuring that policy and planning meet grassroots reality.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Leadership: Assist in developing and scaling project frameworks across diverse geographies.
Stakeholder Management: Act as the primary liaison between knowledge partners (TISS, PDAG, Asar), government agencies, and block coordinators.
Documentation & Research: Lead high-level academic writing, reporting, and project documentation to track progress and impact.
Facilitation: Organize and lead workshops, meetings, and consultations with community members and policy experts.
Impact Delivery: Ensure the timely and effective delivery of project outcomes to meet climate goals.
Qualifications & Requirements
The foundation is seeking a candidate who balances academic rigor with practical coordination skills.
Criteria Requirement
Education Postgraduate degree in Social Sciences, Environmental Studies, Development Studies, or related fields.
Advanced Degree A PhD is desirable but not mandatory.
Skills Strong academic writing and exceptional multi-stakeholder coordination abilities.
Experience Familiarity with climate governance and gender inclusion is highly preferred.
Engagement Details
Duration: 3 years (Renewable annually based on performance).
Location: Mumbai-based, with field visits to Raigad (Maharashtra).
