CYDA Hiring: Join as a WASH & Waste Management Expert in Pembi
The Centre for Youth and Development Activities (CYDA) is accepting applications for the role of WASH & Waste Management Expert based in Pembi. This position is tailored for professionals in environmental science, public health, and rural development who want to lead sustainable sanitation and resource management initiatives across local Gram Panchayats and communities.
Key Role Responsibilities
The selected candidate will lead field-level operations, stakeholder engagement, and project execution:
Project Leadership & Infrastructure Maintenance: Oversee end-to-end execution of WASH initiatives in alignment with organizational standards, quality guidelines, and timelines. Ensure the sustainability and proper maintenance of field infrastructure.
Material Recovery Facility (MRF) Operations: Manage day-to-day operations at MRF facilities, covering waste collection, segregation, processing, and disposal. Coordinate directly with recyclers and aggregators to address supply chain challenges.
Community Mobilization & IEC Campaigns: Plan and execute capacity-building sessions, awareness activities, and Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) campaigns. Build networks with Self-Help Groups (SHGs), NGOs, and local community leaders.
Stakeholder & Government Relations: Work in close coordination with Gram Panchayats, Urban Local Bodies (ULBs), and government departments to streamline project delivery.
Field Team Supervision: Directly supervise ground staff, Safai Sathis, volunteers, and waste collection drivers.
Monitoring, Budgeting & Reporting: Track operational data, manage budgets, maintain MIS documentation, and compile performance reports for donors.
