Waste Management Expert
This role is central to improving solid waste management (SWM) processes and requires a candidate with deep domain knowledge and practical experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Data and Compliance: Manage the MIS portal for Swachh Survekshan, ensuring data accuracy and adherence to SBM guidelines.
Technology Integration: Guide Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) in using ICT to manage SWM operations and boost citizen engagement.
Strategic Planning: Create and execute detailed plans for door-to-door waste collection, segregation, transport, and processing.
Monitoring and Assessment: Oversee all SWM activities, report inefficiencies to the Municipal Commissioner, and conduct assessments of municipal solid waste to predict future trends.
Resource Management: Plan the use of inert materials and develop strategies to lower expenses without sacrificing service quality.
Performance Tracking: Set up performance metrics and reporting systems for daily waste management.
Community and Facility Oversight: Guide Resident Welfare Associations (RWAs) and Bulk Waste Generators (BWGs) in establishing decentralized waste processing units, manage litter bin placement, and monitor the cleanliness of public toilets.
Staff Development: Train sanitation staff on professional cleaning methods and health safety.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
Education: A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Environmental Management, Public Health, Urban Planning, or a related field.
Experience: A minimum of 3 years of experience in SBM, Waste Management, or a similar sector.
Languages: Mandatory proficiency in both Telugu and English.
Core Skills: Must possess strong knowledge of waste management regulations, experience with ICT integration in SWM, excellent leadership skills, and proficiency in waste management planning and reporting.
MIS Expert
This position focuses on data management and analytics to support sanitation and waste management projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Data Management: Collect, verify, and enter data related to Solid Waste Management, ODF+, GFC, and sanitation indicators.
Portal Management: Ensure timely and accurate data uploads on the Swachh Survekshan portal (SS2025) and associated dashboards.
Documentation and Tracking: Maintain systematic digital records, including geo-tagged photos and meeting minutes, while tracking progress on Swachh Survekshan indicators.
Survey and Certification Support: Assist the team with documentation for surveys and facilitate data submissions for GFC and ODF certifications.
GIS and Coordination: Support the mapping of sanitation assets using GIS tools and coordinate with various ULB departments for data collection.
Reporting and Social Media: Generate regular performance reports and manage all social media profiles for the ULB.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
Education: A Bachelor's or Master's degree in CS, IT, Data Analytics, Statistics, Engineering, Geoinformatics, GIS, or an equivalent field.
Experience: A minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role.
Languages: Mandatory proficiency in both Telugu and English.
Core Skills: Strong capabilities in MS Excel and data visualization, experience with MIS systems and the Swachttam Portal, understanding of urban sanitation indicators, and familiarity with geo-tagging tools. Knowledge of Swachh Bharat Mission protocols is also required.
IEC (Information, Education, and Communication) Expert
This role is designed to drive public awareness and community participation in sanitation initiatives through targeted communication campaigns.
Key Responsibilities:
Campaign Management: Design and roll out city-level IEC campaigns that align with Swachh Survekshan themes.
Community Engagement: Organize ward-level awareness activities such as rallies and competitions to encourage citizen participation.
Content Creation: Develop locally relevant content, including brochures, social media posts, and jingles, for behavior change.
Outreach and Promotion: Coordinate with media for campaign coverage, promote citizen engagement tools like the Swachhata App, and mobilize stakeholders such as schools and RWAs.
Branding and Documentation: Ensure sanitation assets are properly branded according to MoHUA guidelines and document success stories for national submission.
Monitoring: Track campaign results and maintain a MIS of all IEC activities with reports and geo-tagged photos.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
Education: A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mass Communication, Journalism, Social Work, Sociology, Public Relations, or an equivalent field.
Experience: A minimum of 1 year of experience in a similar role.
Languages: Mandatory proficiency in both Telugu and English.
Core Skills: Strong content creation skills, knowledge of SBM guidelines and behavior change models, and proficiency in social media campaigns and event planning. Experience with design tools like Canva or Photoshop is a plus, and prior work in sanitation or public health projects is desirable.
