Waste Warriors, an organization working on sustainable waste management across India's mountain regions, has announced two new job openings — one in Himachal Pradesh and one in Dehradun, Uttarakhand. The roles are aimed at professionals passionate about environmental sustainability, community-driven development, and youth engagement in the Himalayan belt.
About the Hiring Drive
With growing waste management challenges in hilly and mountainous terrains, Waste Warriors continues to expand its on-ground teams to build resilient systems and empower local communities. The current hiring call includes two distinct roles that reflect the organization's dual focus: operational excellence in waste management and grassroots youth mobilization.
1. Project Manager, Himachal Pradesh
This role is designed for a candidate who can lead waste management initiatives from planning to execution across Himachal Pradesh. Key responsibilities include:
Leading and overseeing waste management projects on the ground
Developing project plans, timelines, budgets, and resource allocation
Coordinating closely with panchayats, local communities, and government stakeholders
Monitoring project progress, budgets, and reporting requirements
Building resilient waste management systems suited to challenging mountain terrain
Driving data-led decisions and sustainable local solutions
This position is ideal for candidates with strong project management skills, stakeholder coordination experience, and a genuine interest in environmental and rural development work. Experience with data-driven reporting and budget management would be a strong advantage.
2. Youth Movement Coordinator, Dehradun
This role focuses on building and mobilizing youth communities around climate action and civic engagement. Core responsibilities include:
Curating engaging experiences, events, and spaces for young people
Building youth communities and facilitating meaningful conversations
Connecting young changemakers to relevant opportunities and platforms
Supporting on-ground initiatives, events, and project delivery
Facilitating workshops, meetups, and climate action conversations
Shaping youth engagement strategy and long-term movement building
Candidates with a background in community organizing, event coordination, or youth-focused program design would be well suited for this role. Strong communication skills and passion for climate advocacy are essential.
